Your Niagara Falls B&B Host, Rob

In 2007 Rob came out for a visit to Niagara Falls and remembered why he liked southern Ontario so much. When he saw Greystone Manor Bed and Breakfast, it was a little worse for wear, but he could see the potential in this grand home located on the scenic banks of the Niagara River Gorge. Upon his return to Calgary, he decided that it was time to semi-retire in Niagara Falls.

In 2008, Rob and his partner, Bill, purchased Greystone Manor Bed and Breakfast and Rob worked diligently in restoring this wonderful century home. Rob did his best to update this B&B while maintaining the character and integrity of this home. The wiring has been updated, along with the plumbing, installation of air conditioning and a new boiler system. The architectural details of the home, such as the solid wood doors and trims have been restored by lovingly removing layer after layer of paint and restaining and varnishing the woodwork. The original hardwood floors have also been refinished. In March of 2011, Rob and Bill completed refinishing the original windows and the few remaining doors, trims and baseboards. It should be noted that every effort has been made to restore this home, not to renovate it. The squeeky hardwood floors are just part of the charm of this Niagara Falls century home turned bed and breakfast.

Although relatively new to Niagara Falls, Rob has made a concerted effort to explore as much of the area as he can. He has quickly found a lot of the hidden gems in the Niagara Region and is looking forward to sharing this information with his guests. Rob has an extensive background in customer service. For nearly 20 years, he has taught customer service skills at various companies in the Alberta oilpatch, IBM and most recently several retail shops in Calgary.
